USDA quoted 61 refrigerated produce lanes in the week to 21 April 2026, averaging $3.99 a mile.
The strongest lane was New York to New York at $15.67 a mile over 150 miles, a load paying $2,350. The weakest was Yakima Valley And Wenatchee District, Washington to Los Angeles at $2.12.
By destination, Boston paid best at $5.38 a mile on average, while Los Angeles was weakest at $2.98.
These are the only lane-level dollar rates published free in the United States. They cover refrigerated produce only, and the mix of lanes quoted shifts with the growing season, so comparing individual lanes week to week is more meaningful than comparing the average.
